- Grinding
Grinding is an abrasive machining process that uses a wheel as the cutting tool. It can produce very fine finishes and very accurate dimensions. In mass production, this process can deliver large volumes of finished metal within a short timeframe.
We offer grinding of ferrous and non-ferrous metals other materials wit ha use of a wheel, abrasive belt, and abrasive material. By hand-grinding, we can achieve even surfaces of irregular areas. This process is aimed at reducing or completely eliminating surface roughness.
Abrasive machining processes can be implemented in various ways and methods. Among the abrasive machining methods, we can distinguish:
• grinding,
• brushing,
• polishing.
Grinding is a type of finishing treatment involving the removal of a thin layer of metal
and has the task of imparting the right shape, dimensional accuracy and roughness
surface.
Brushing, like polishing, is an abrasive finishing process.
This process is aimed at the extraction of the surface structure rather than cutting the metal layers. In the case of brushing, the abrasive effect on the surface is minimal.
Polishing is a decorative operation and aims to give the surface a mirror shine.
The final effect that is obtained by grinding, polishing and brushing depends on many factors below:
• work material - type and grade,
• type of abrasive material: backing material, grain size, its shape, and hardness,
• method of the delivery of abrasive material: tape, disk, compound,
• number of finishing operations,
• tools used for processing,
• employee skills.
We offer to grind sheet metals and items of complex shapes such as door handles, furniture fittings, wall hooks, and other decorative articles. Doing this we are able to hold tolerances and achieve specific surface finishes. We are able to work with the following materials:
• steel
• stainless steel
• brass
• bronze
• copper
